Yang Ming Line's 2 nd exclusive terminal in the United States West Coast named Olympic Container Terminal (OCT) is located at berth 7D of Port of Tacoma which is port-owned and the lease agreement has been signed on Dec 10, 2004. The terminal had been completed on November 15,2005. The terminal description below reflects renovations currently taking place :
Size: 54 acres (22 hectares) with future expansion option to 76 acres (30.8 hectares)
Berthing Facilities: One berth, 1,100 feet (335 meters)
Water Depth: -51 feet (-15.54 meters) MLLW
Cranes: Four total; three with 14-container reach, one with
13-container reach

Wharf upgrade: post-panama berth/cranes will be available on early year 2010
Truck Gate: Four inbound lanes with one bypass lane; two
outbound lanes; two scales
Reefer Plugs: 300
Truck Gate: Four inbound lanes with one bypass lane; two
outbound lanes; two scales
Wash out facility: empty reefer and food grade dry container for
clearing
Rail Access: North Intermodal Yard directly adjacent to the
terminal; served by BNSF and Union Pacific railroads
Highway Access: Interstate 5, State Route 509 three miles (5 kilometers) from terminal; Interstate 90 is just 30 miles (48 kilometers) north via Interstate 5 and/or State Route 18



Location: On the main Port peninsula between Olympic Container Terminal and Husky Container Terminal. Containers move between the terminals and the intermodal yard without leaving Port property or traveling on public rights-of-way.

Total length of track: 26,750 feet (8,159 meters)

Configuration: Eight 3,200-foot (976-meter) tracks; two 575-foot (176-meter) tracks

Capacity: Approximately 88 doublestack container railcars

Container handling equipment: 34 three-container-high straddle carriers
