The Port of Kaohsiung
has features of excellent topography, moderate climate
and ideal location. In addition, it is located at the
center of Asia Pacific and the distances in-between major
ports in Asian region are relatively shortest. In order
to set up more competitive service network, Yang Ming
Line uses Kaohsiung as a transshipment hub in the Asia
Pacific to serve its fleet and as a gateway for connecting
intra-Asia services with long-leg services.

Yang Ming Line Kaohsiung Branch is a department of Yang Ming
Group. Together with other member companies, we provide general
shipping agency and terminal service at the Port of Kaohsiung
(wharf#70& # 120) such as berth arrangement, stevedoring,
yard storage and truck haulage. All services we provided is
a dynamic, customer-driven business, dedicated to enhancing
the competitiveness of each customer we serve. We are proud
to supply Yang Ming exclusive service in Kaohsiung to fulfill
all customer's demand.

In
order to provide the excellent and exclusive service to
our customers, we have been undertaking several projects
to upgrade our services. Most of container handling equipment
such as gantry crane and rail mounted gantry crane had
been renewed by the end of 2001. By 2002, the operations
management system of our terminal is further upgraded
to CATOS(Computer Automated Terminal Operation System),
which is one of the most sophisticated IT system for container
terminals in the world. In addition, the yard space is
also expanded to increase storage capacity and the moving
path for tractors will be adjusted to secure more efficiency.
Besides, Yang Ming Group Kaohiung Global Logistics Center,
which is the first modern distribution center located
inside the port area in Taiwan, started running |
from July 1st, 2002. Its services including CFS operation, warehousing,
distribution,inventory management and various values added operations
are available. Combined with our existing marine and terminal
services, most of activities in a business supply chain could
be handled by us. Being an excellent container terminal with
high efficiency is our ultimate vision. Just like the past 30
years, we will continue to push ourselves ahead to meet the
requirements of customers, and to create more convenient and
advanced ways to make our service better. With continuous efforts,
hopefully to have more business opportunities, and make the
Port of Kaohsiung and Yang Ming Group more prosperous.
