Overview
Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (Yang Ming) was established
on December 28, 1972.
At the end of 2007, Yang Ming operates a fleet of 91 vessels with a 4.1-million-D.W.T, of which container ships are
the mains service force. There are also 10 bulk carriers out of 91 vessels in operation. We transport more than 3.1 million TEUS (Twenty Feet Equivalent Units) a year.
Ever since its founding, Yang Ming has adopted and practiced this

Pragmatism." In the meantime, getting breakthroughs and solving
problems by concerted efforts, in line with the motto of "Punctual,
Speedy, Reliable and Economical" service, have been the keys

thanks to incessant rejuvenation, its fleet is comparably young.

In the face of rapid changes in shipping business environment and
in our customers' request, to provide our customers with multiple
choices and rapid shipping service, our managing policy includes
unceasingly fortifying our strategic alliances with shipping partners
like K-line, COSCO and Hanjin, enlarging the shipping service network
and increasing calling ports. In addition, through continuously using
new information technology, upgrading computer systems, unifying
the relevant information, and modifying working process, we provide
electronic service to our customers and promote our working quality
and quantity as well. The main services we provide include:

Global shipping:Full-container
liner service connecting Asia with North America, Asia with
Europe and the Mediterranean, North America with Europe and
the Mediterranean; Intra Asia service connecting the main ports
in Southeast Asia with those of Northeast Asia. Our worldwide
tramp services will be even further expanded in March of
2007 with our addition of ten new panamax vessels. |

Container terminals:Modern dedicated
container terminal service is available at the ports of Keelung
and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, as well as at the Port of Los Angeles and Tacoma in
the U.S. We pride ourselves in our professional efforts for
the management and operations of our container terminals. |

Global logistics:YES logistics,
a subsidiary of our Yang Ming Group, provides customized logistics
services in transportation management, order processing, inventory
management, distribution, consolidation and other value-added
services. Many logistics service points are located in North
America, Europe and China, and have each been setup to provide
high-quality global logistics services. |

Inland trucking:Jing Ming Transport
Corporation is a trucking subsidiary of our Yang Ming Group
in Taiwan. In addition to supporting the shipside operations
of Yang Mingˇ¦s vessels and the logistics services of YES, Jing
Ming also provides container-trucking services for shippers
or consignees. |

Comprehensive Business:
Land development and Cultural undertakings
(1) Land development:
Completed projects: office building at Neihu, phase-2 low-temperature Warehouse Logistics Center in Kaohsiung, and Museum of Marine Exploration in Kaohsiung.
(2) Cultural undertaking:
In order to raise the general publicˇ¦s consciousness of oceanic culture and fulfill its social responsibility, Yang Ming established the Oceanic Culture & Art Museum, which was opened to the public on 2004/12/28.
After establishing the YM Oceanic Culture & Art Museum in Keelung, Yang Ming cooperated with the Kaohsiung Bureau of Marine Affairs in setting up the Museum of Marine Exploration, which was opened on 2007/12/30 to provide the general public with more opportunities for exploring the oceanic culture. |

Yang Ming
