Literal Meaning : "Yang Ming " is transliterated from its two Chinese characters "." "Yang Ming" refers to the sun and lightness. "Yang" refers to the sun, whereas "Ming" is the combination of the sun and the moon and often denotes "brightness," "clarity" or "enlightenment."
Logo Meaning :
The logo is a square block shape integrated with our initials "YM". The "Y" stretches out from the bottom to the top, which signifies Yang Ming's endeavor for innovation. The "M" stands for grandeur, width and firmness, which implies that Yang Ming's employee teams work honestly and pragmatically for effective results. Our logo also delivers Yang Ming's core values of "Teamwork, Innovation, Honesty and Pragmatism."

Corporate Supplementary Pattern :
The flow of a Wave is our Corporate Supplementary Pattern. This Wave not only represents Yang Ming's core business, sea transportation, but also our concern for the oceans and marine ecology. The Wave flows from left to right like a rising tiding, signifying Yang Ming's constant efforts to upgrade and keep our progress and efficiency to a peak.

Overview
Yang Ming Marine Transport Corporation (Yang Ming) was established on December 28, 1972.

At the end of 2007, Yang Ming operates a fleet of 91 vessels with a 4.1-million-D.W.T, of which container ships are the mains service force. There are also 10 bulk carriers out of 91 vessels in operation. We transport more than 3.1 million TEUS (Twenty Feet Equivalent Units) a year.

Ever since its founding, Yang Ming has adopted and practiced this management philosophy: "Teamwork, Innovation, Honesty, and Pragmatism." In the meantime, getting breakthroughs and solving problems by concerted efforts, in line with the motto of "Punctual, Speedy, Reliable and Economical" service, have been the keys to our outstanding performance and efficiency. Yang Ming is one of the world's leading, experienced container transportation companies, thanks to incessant rejuvenation, its fleet is comparably young.

With ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISM CODE, ISPS CODE , and OHSAS 18001 accreditations and being awarded with the ROC's 1996 National Quality Outstanding Case Award, we at Yang Ming have never ceased to maintain and improve our efficiency. Yang Ming's headquarters is conveniently located in Keelung, Taiwan, R.O.C. with
branch offices in the country's three other major ports: Keelung in the north,

Business Profiles
In the face of rapid changes in shipping business environment and in our customers' request, to provide our customers with multiple choices and rapid shipping service, our managing policy includes unceasingly fortifying our strategic alliances with shipping partners like K-line, COSCO and Hanjin, enlarging the shipping service network and increasing calling ports. In addition, through continuously using new information technology, upgrading computer systems, unifying the relevant information, and modifying working process, we provide electronic service to our customers and promote our working quality and quantity as well. The main services we provide include:

   Global shipping:Full-container liner service connecting Asia with North America, Asia with Europe and the Mediterranean, North America with Europe and the Mediterranean; Intra Asia service connecting the main ports in Southeast Asia with those of Northeast Asia. Our worldwide tramp services will be even further expanded in March of 2007 with our addition of ten new panamax vessels.
   Container terminals:Modern dedicated container terminal service is available at the ports of Keelung and Kaohsiung in Taiwan, as well as at the Port of Los Angeles and Tacoma in the U.S. We pride ourselves in our professional efforts for the management and operations of our container terminals.
   Global logistics:YES logistics, a subsidiary of our Yang Ming Group, provides customized logistics services in transportation management, order processing, inventory management, distribution, consolidation and other value-added services. Many logistics service points are located in North America, Europe and China, and have each been setup to provide high-quality global logistics services.
   Inland trucking:Jing Ming Transport Corporation is a trucking subsidiary of our Yang Ming Group in Taiwan. In addition to supporting the shipside operations of Yang Mingˇ¦s vessels and the logistics services of YES, Jing Ming also provides container-trucking services for shippers or consignees.
Comprehensive Business: Land development and Cultural undertakings

(1) Land development:
Completed projects: office building at Neihu, phase-2 low-temperature Warehouse Logistics Center in Kaohsiung, and Museum of Marine Exploration in Kaohsiung.

(2) Cultural undertaking:
In order to raise the general publicˇ¦s consciousness of oceanic culture and fulfill its social responsibility, Yang Ming established the Oceanic Culture & Art Museum, which was opened to the public on 2004/12/28.

After establishing the YM Oceanic Culture & Art Museum in Keelung, Yang Ming cooperated with the Kaohsiung Bureau of Marine Affairs in setting up the Museum of Marine Exploration, which was opened on 2007/12/30 to provide the general public with more opportunities for exploring the oceanic culture.


Service Scope
Offering a frequent, full-container service network in the world, which includes
Asia/North America North-West Coast, Asia/North America South-West Coast,
Asia/North America East Coast, Asia/East, West Mediterranean, Asia/North Europe, North Europe/North America East Coast, Mediterranean/North American East
Coast, and Intra-Asia regional routes.
The service scope cover 73 nations with more than 170 service points.

To protect the environment is a social responsibility of our enterprise. Because we
have only one Earth, we must try our best to avoid damaging the environment
and wasting resources. We must leave our descendants a clean and healthy living
space.
Yang Ming provides global ocean shipping services. Our major responsibilities are
protecting the ocean environment, efficient use of natural resources, preventing
pollution and contributing back to society.

To achieve the goal of implementing the environment managemental system, we
have establish following policies as the abiding principles of our staff.
Complying with domestic environmental regulations and international conventions
in order to prevent pollution and preserve marine eco-systems.
Economizing the consumption of resources and avoiding unnecessary waste of
resources.
Strengthen and improve control of the root causes of pollution in order to prevent
environmental pollution.
Endeavoring in the reuse and recycle of resources to reduce unnecessary waste.
Establishing an environmental management system to continuously improve the
performance of environmental management.
Strengthen education and promote more awareness and the capabilities of
employee in our efforts to safe-guard the environment.
