IPI service was expanded. The scope of shipping and connecting land transportation services in the U.S. was also enlarged.
A linkage of YANG MING liner services connecting Europe , Asia and America was completed.

YANG MING's capital was further increased to NT$7,603,968,000.00.
A liner service linking the Indian Ocean, the Persian Gulf, the Far East, the U.S.A. and Europe was inaugurated.



1987

Four more 3,266-TEU full container vessels were put into service.
YANG MING was cited by the London-based British Shipper Consultation (a subsidiary of the Freight Transport Association Ltd.) as the world's "Second Most Acclaimed Shipping Company" in client service rendition.
YANG MING was awarded "Outstanding Marine Transporter" by the ROC's Kaohsiung Port Authority.
YANG MING's capital was again increased to NT$6,857,535,000.00.



1986/1987

Four 3,266-TEU full container vessels, the largest of the kind in the ROC at the time, were completed. With the inauguration of the Far East /Australia and Far East / Northeast Asia liner services, a hub-and-poke network of shipping routes was accomplished.
YANG MING was awarded "Outstanding Marine Transporter of the Year" by the government of the Republic of China.



1986

YANG MING's capital was again increased to NT$6,341,488,000.00.



1985

Named as one of the world's "most satisfactory marine transporters in service and reliability," YANG MING was also cited by the American press as one of the top ten liner services in the world.



1984


Three 66,000-ton Panamax-class bulk carriers were built and put into service.
The ROC Ministry of Transportation and Communications awarded YANG MING for its successful and efficient Far East / Europe liner service.
YANG MING's capital was again increased to NT$5,268,688,000.00.

YANG MING's capital was further increased to NT$5,098,288,000.00.



1982/1983


Four more 2,054 TEU full container vessels joined YANG MING's fleet. An extension to North Europe was added to the Mediterranean- bound liner service, and the Far East / Europe full container liner service was also inaugurated.
