The Promotion
of Oceanic Culture & Marine Ecology
To commemorate the historical building of our Keelung Port
Office (at 4 Gang-Xi Street, Keelung City) ,we
had set up a museum - YM Oceanic Culture &
Art Museum .
We expect the museum to play a unique role and function
in our efforts to promote meaningful activities about oceanic
culture and marine ecology in the following ways: exhibits,
education, research, collections, cultural awareness, sightseeing,
leisure time activities, innovation, and etc. By introducing
the spirit of Taiwan as our Oceanic Homeland, it is our hope
that our communities and our younger generation will begin to
appreciate the ocean, to become more familiar with the ocean,
to protect the ocean and to be encouraged to responsibly explore
and understand our ocean even more. With the founding of the museum,
we trust that our contributions for oceanic awareness would
further enhance our understanding of the seas that surround our
homeland, upgrade our living quality and harmony with the seas,
and arouse more creativity focused on marine conservation.
The
time table of our Oceanic Culture and Art Museums:
Short-term
program :
YM Oceanic Culture & Art Museum grand opening
in late 2004.
Kaoshiung Oceanic Culture & Life Museum grand opening
in mid 2007.
Mid-term program :
A floating maritime museum on the sea and a recreational
yacht due for completion in 2009.
Long-time program :
Sea tours, widely known as the "Formosa
Blue Highway" and luxury cruise package before 2012.

Oceanic Cultural
& Art Museum
was opened on December 28, 2004. It was Yang Ming¡¦s
aim that this museum play a unique role and function in our
efforts to promote meaningful activities about oceanic culture,
music, literature and art in the following ways: exhibits, education,
research, collections, cultural awareness, and etc. By introducing
the spirit of Taiwan as our Oceanic Homeland, it is our hope
that our communities and our younger generations will begin
to appreciate the ocean, to become more familiar with the ocean,
to protect the ocean and to be encouraged to responsibly explore
and understand our ocean even more.
We are confident that YM Oceanic Cultural & Art Museum
plays a very unique role and function in our efforts to prompt
meaningful activities about maritime culture, music
,literature and art in the following ways: exhibits ,education
,research ,collections,cultural awareness ,and etc. By introducing the spirit of Taiwan as our Oceanic
Homeland, it is our hope that our communities and our younger
generations will begin to appreciate the ocean, to become more
familiar with the marine ecology, to protect our seas and to
be encouraged to responsibly explore and understand the wonders
of our deep blue ocean even more.
